Withington Merlot 2003 – A Special Discovery
By Charles on Sep 15, 2006 in Find our Wines Here
The Withington Merlot 2003 has just been voted by Caroline Rillema of Caroline’s Fine Wines as one of her ‘special discoveries’.
Apart from her retail outlets in Cape Town, Caroline also runs a wine club. The aim here is to allow members to sit back, while she selects the finest wines from across the globe. This quarter, Withington Merlot was one of the wines, that she selected for her ‘special discoveries’ package.
True to the name, some really special gems, have been selected alongside the Withington Merlot. On the white side, there is the Vinum Chenin Blanc, which has won praises from Jancis Robinson among others, the Neil Joubert Sauvignon Blanc, great value at R31,50 a bottle, and two international wines – a white blend from the Cote-du-Rhone and a Sauvignon from New Zealand.
Keeping company on the red side, is the Guardian Peak Frontier, a Shiraz-based blend from the Ernie Els stable and a French Syrah-Grenache blend from the Southern Rhone region.
If you are looking to enjoy one of the last few bottles of Withington Merlot 2003, this is a great way to do it!
