China….my China

About two weeks ago Judy Brower – co-owner of Wine.co.za called me.  In  general discussion,  I mentioned that I had just got back from China, and she was very interested to hear all about it …. .

So I simply sent forwarded to her my “tongue in cheek” letter written while waiting at the station, as a result of my travel-agent initiated documentary disaster.

Later on she phoned me back and asked if she could publish it.    After careful consideration, I said OK, provided I could edit accordingly , as my opinions had changed dramatically  after having been “let out” , met our importers , and spent time at the wine show.

What super people the Chinese had turned out to be,  and what wonderful hospitality, so unlike the UK English who (with exceptions indeed !!),  tell you what train/bus  to catch and  how many minutes  walk it will take you to eventually reach their business/house.

Judy wanted to keep the threads of the story the same, as a simple blurb on a visit to China is a boring read, and anyway, I don’t “do” that sort of sort of stuff.
